After initially looking at Drupal as our next content management system, we recently decided that WordPress would be a better option:
The CMSes they are a-changin'

@Savitri: We made sure our needs were still met with WordPress. I did a side-by-side comparison using CMS Matrix to get a better idea of some nitty-gritty features since I was already familiar with the basic WP features.

@Chelsea: That's one of the key reasons we decided to drop Drupal while we were still in the very early stages and go with WordPress. Do you have any tips?

We're planning to use regular WordPress -- we didn't see a need for MU since it will probably be easier to manage the blog site separately.

I think Sean was completely right about the best reason to use WordPress : clean turnaround.

Not knowing exactly your needs, I think WordPress is a great choice. Drupal, to me and my test subject, was not as user friendly and WP has more plugins for my needs.
